Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984)

Continuing from the end of Part III, the fourth film is set around the area of Crystal Lake, featuring another lakeside cabin where a new group of teenagers arrives for a weekend of fun. The setting is again isolated and surrounded by dark woods, which feel even more claustrophobic due to the relentless rain and nighttime scenes.

This time, a family — Trish and her younger brother Tommy Jarvis — takes center stage, along with a group of teens looking to party in the nearby house. The teens exhibit typical slasher film behaviors, such as partying and fooling around, while the family adds an element of innocence and genuine fear to the mix.

Jason’s look is consistent with his previous appearance but now shows signs of wear and damage. The hockey mask is cracked, and his clothes are tattered, emphasizing his brutal, undead nature. The most creative kill involves Jason crushing a doctor's head against a shower wall. Ultimately, Jason meets his temporary demise at the hands of Tommy, who, in a shocking and brutal scene, repeatedly hacks at Jason with a machete, driven to a point of near madness himself.

"Jason's journey might seem done, like a finished song, but in ‘A New Beginning,’ you’ll find out you're wrong!"
