Friday the 13th Part III (1982)

The third installment shifts to a more expansive and isolated setting at a lakeside ranch near Crystal Lake. The property includes a barn, a dock, and multiple cabins, offering Jason numerous hiding spots. The film's daytime setting is deceptively sunny and peaceful, creating a stark contrast to the night-time terror that unfolds.

A group of friends, led by Chris, arrives at the ranch for a weekend getaway. The characters are a mix of horror archetypes — the prankster, the romantic couple, the nerd, and the final girl. Despite the tension among them, they are mostly carefree and oblivious to the legend of Jason, who has survived the previous film's events and is lurking nearby.

Jason gets his iconic hockey mask in this film, stolen from a victim, and his transformation into the hulking, silent killer is complete. He is now dressed in work clothes and stands as a towering figure, his face concealed behind the eerie mask. The most creative kill is when Jason crushes a man's skull with his bare hands, causing one of the victim's eyes to pop out in a grotesque 3D effect. Jason is temporarily defeated when Chris drives an axe into his forehead, but his body disappears, suggesting he is far from finished.

"Now he's got the mask and a taste for infamy, but the tale’s far from over, 'cause there's a 'Final Chapter' in Part IV, you see!"
